Taken from two earlier Gillespie works, 1951's "The Champ" and his four songs off 1950s "Prestige 1st Sessions, Vol. 3", "Ooh-Shoo-Be-Doo-Bee" is a nice portrait of the trumpeter playing some of what would later become his most famous works ("Tin Tin Deo," "Birk's Works") as well as some interpretations of classics like "Nice Work If You Can Get It" and "Caravan" and even some lesser-known songs ("The Bluest Blues," "Time on My Hands"). If you already own either of the original two albums, especially "The Champ", there's not much point in buying "Ooh-Shoo-Be-Doo-Bee"; otherwise, it makes a nice addition to a Diz collection.
