Robben Ford is a former member of The Yellowjackets we have covered before with his 1992 Ohne Filter concert DVD, but now, Inakustik has begun a new DVD concert series from Paris at the New Morning where this was taped. This 2001 concert runs 90 minutes, or 50% longer than any Ohne Filter installment, and is the stronger concert besides any time considerations. You have a tight, four member band who can really play, know it and enjoy it.

Super-guitarist Larry Carlton says it like it is: "Meeting and jamming with Robben Ford in the seventies made me a better musician." These two groove masters were meant to hit it off. They shared the same solid blues background, a similar degree of jazz influences and a mutual desire to deepen rock 'n' roll's juvenile energy by enriching the vocabulary of the guitar. This is a challenge only the most inspired of virtuosos are able to take up - and a calling to which Robben Ford subordinated everything else. Always shunning compromise, he has been making fans throughout the world for twenty years now. Here in the intimacy of the New Morning club in Paris, with his Californian blend of unmistakable laid back langour and dazzling diamond-like chords, he does it again.
