Cathedral's In Memoriam is one gem of a kind. It displays melancholic doom metal, with all the somber beauty from a Candlemass album plus a sheer intensity on the sound. Though raw (it's a demo) this recording is worthy, not only because includes the hard to find "Echoes from the dirge..." live vinyl (recorded in Holland, pressed in Mexico, from where I'm, by the way) but because is a cornerstone to any DOOM metal fan out there. It's like, for a raw example (sorry) the Ulver's Nattens Madrigal of Doom. Raw though excellent. You will love Lee Dorrian's throat laments fitting so perfectly with the melancholia of a youngers Gaz Jennings and Adam Lehan. Also includes legendary bass player Griff.
